About Us

Michelle Redmond

Hello. My name is Michelle Redmond and I am the Owner/Director of Christopher Robin’s.

We have been providing quality child care to families for a very long time – since 1989.   Over these many years, the rooms have been painted many different colours, the playground has undergone a few renovations, and the menu has changed countless times, but the important things have remained the same.

Children continue to thrive in an environment where they feel safe, where adults treat them with kindness and respect, and where they are encouraged to try new things and challenge themselves.

Our programs continue to be developed by trained professionals whose educational backgrounds include courses in Child Development, Child Psychology and Educational Theory.  FYI: The majority of child care practitioners have either a degree or a diploma in Early Childhood Education and in accordance with the NS Daycare Act, at least 2/3 of the teaching staff at all centres in our province must be fully trained.

And we continue to encourage teachers to explore new ideas and further enhance their professional skills.  A Professional Development Fund provides financial assistance to  teachers that want to participate in workshops and seminars.  In addition, our staff attend regularly scheduled planning meetings and have reviews to discuss program implementation.

As a Director, I understand that programming is important, but that the majority of families are equally interested in making sure the environment is safe…

  • All employees of Christopher Robin’s are screened through the N.S. Child Abuse Registry and undergo a Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Every employee maintains current First Aid and CPR training.
  • Our premises are inspected regularly by the Fire Department and the Health Department.
  • Our air quality is maintained by a full-premise air exchange system.
  • A card-based security system limits access to staff and family members.
  • And more…

I am proud to be the owner of Christopher Robin’s.  My dearest friends include past and present members of the staff, and parents of children we have cared for.  We are family.  And I truly believe that this is part of the charm of our centre.

I would love the opportunity to learn more about your child, their interests and abilities.  Please Contact Us.
